Unfolding Sustainable Art Careers in Ghana

Unfolding Artitude
Art Library | Creative Workshops | Career Consultations | Artistic Experiences
The Artitude project is a capacity-building initiative to inspire, celebrate and promote art as a tool for social, cultural and economic development. Since 2019, we have engaged over five thousand young adults, seven hundred guardians and twelve institutions, exposing our audience to the possibilities within the art and culture industries. The success of this project has created a demand beyond our capacity. Due to this, we collaborated with Veloconcerts to build an eco-friendly mobile stage to unfold the Artitude experiences anywhere and anytime. We also collaborated with Kora Contemporary Art Centre to curate art books, projects, and workshop materials. We need your support to reach our goal in 2025.

Our research shows that pursuing art in Ghanaian senior high schools needs to be considered as important as all other courses. Most art students experience some form of discrimination from naysayers during their studies. The study also shows that most art students and naysayers were naive about the possibilities within the creative art space. Through hands-on mentorship, internship and exposé endeavours, the Artitude initiative aims to demystify this creative misconception (negative social behaviour towards the arts) while promoting art as a sustainable career. This project aims to inspire, celebrate and promote art as a tool for social, cultural and economic development.
