Artitude is a creative platform committed to empowering young people through access to artistic knowledge, cultural resources, and creative skill development. Through the new mobile Creative Library feature, we are building a global repository of materials that inspire innovation, critical thinking, and sustainable creative practices. Artitude – Creative Library Feature is a mobile cultural initiative designed to expand access to artistic knowledge, mentorship, and creative dialogue across communities in Southern Ghana.
Over the course of the project, the mobile Creative Library will visit 55 locations and engage over 10,000 participants.
The aim is to offer new opportunities to young people who often have limited access to art books, visual references, educational materials, professional tools and opportunities to engage with the international creative world.
We are inviting global contributors to support the creation of a dynamic, interdisciplinary creative library, designed to unlock global creative possibilities in southern Ghana.
Our research shows that pursuing art in Ghanaian senior high schools needs to be considered as important as all other courses. Most art students experience some form of discrimination from naysayers during their studies. The study also shows that most art students and naysayers were naive about the possibilities within the creative art space. Through hands-on mentorship, internship and exposé endeavours, the Artitude initiative aims to demystify this creative misconception (negative social behaviour towards the arts) while promoting art as a sustainable career. This project aims to inspire, celebrate and promote art as a tool for social, cultural and economic development.
